Department of Innovation Management
Our research reflects that the innovation activities of companies are increasingly taking place in conjunction with a large number of actors (customers, suppliers, competitors, universities, research institutions, etc.). The openness and interactivity of innovation processes (open innovation) presents management with new challenges. In our research we examine how these open innovation processes support the transformation of companies and which conditions can lead to a successful opening of innovation processes.
The Department of Innovation Management offers an education program to familiarize students with the core questions and latest methods of corporate governance in the context of innovation management.
The teaching portfolio of the Department includes lectures, tutorials and seminars in bachelor and master programs. Our aim is to support students in developing their knowledge of innovation and innovation processes, and to provide them with methods and tools from theory and practice in order enable them to design their own innovation processes.
Ultimately, managing innovation processes is so important and exciting because innovation is critical to the long-term survival of businesses, and because innovation can make a significant contribution to solving major economic, social and environmental challenges.
