INEF research stays at Texas A&M, HEC Liège and Ca’Foscari Venezia    [26.01.16]

Ph.D. students from the University of Hohenheim visited INEF partner universities for research stays in 2015, the first year of the INEF-Network.

 

Within the DAAD-funded “Thematic Network Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Finance”, Elisabeth Berger, who works at the Department of Entrepreneurship, conducted a seven week long research stay at Mays Business School, Texas A&M University. Through her research stay, she gained insights into research and teaching of Entrepreneurship at Texas A&M. Elisabeth Berger presented the results of her own research from the study “What Drives Entrepreneurship? A Configurational Analysis of the Determinants of Entrepreneurship”. As a follow up to her research stay at Mays Business School the University of Hohenheim will welcome a professor from Texas in 2016 for a research stay.

Julius Tennert from the Department of Banking and Finance stayed at HEC Management School in Liège for eight weeks to advance his research in the area of capital appropriation for young and risky enterprises by Venture Capitalists. In cooperation with Marie Lambert from HEC he developed a paper named "Moral Hazard in VC Finance: More Expensive than You Thought".

Marion Popp had the possibility for a research stay at the Ca’Foscari University in Venice. As a research associate, she researches at the Department for Service Management and Service Markets. During her stay, she took part at different events at Ca’Foscari and met with professors and researches who pointed out new perspectives on her research on innovation and its relationship to the transformation of leadership.

All Ph.D. expressed their gratitude to the partner universities for their kind welcome and help during the research stays. Special thanks go to the professors at the partner universities and the colleagues at the International Offices who supported the PhD. students.
